Using Africahied

These Terms govern your access to Africahied and the services, profiles, directories, research discovery tools, messaging, documents, and related features available through the platform. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to use Africahied responsibly and in line with these Terms.

Accounts and Access

You are responsible for the information you provide, the activity that takes place through your account, and keeping your login details secure. You must not impersonate another person or institution, submit misleading profile information, or use the platform in a way that interferes with other users.

Content and Research Materials

You are responsible for the publications, files, messages, profile details, and other materials you submit. You should only upload or share content that you have the right to provide and that does not violate applicable law, institutional rules, confidentiality duties, or third-party rights.

Research Discovery and AI Features

Africahied may provide search, comparison, summaries, recommendations, and other AI-supported features to help users discover research and collaboration opportunities. These tools are provided to support review and decision-making, but outputs may be incomplete or inaccurate and should be checked against source material.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse Africahied, attempt unauthorized access, disrupt the service, scrape or harvest data in ways that are not permitted, upload harmful code, send spam, or use the platform to violate the rights, privacy, safety, or reputation of others.

Payments, Subscriptions and Refunds

Plans and extra credits are priced in US dollars. Payments are settled in South African rand, converted at the exchange rate applying on the day of each charge, so the rand amount of a recurring charge will vary between renewals while the US dollar price stays the same. The amount actually settled is shown on every invoice.

A subscription runs in periods of 30 days and renews automatically against your saved card until you cancel it. Each renewal grants that plan’s monthly credits for the period. Unused monthly credits expire at the end of the period; extra credits bought separately do not expire. If you upgrade during a period, the monthly credits you have not yet used are converted into extra credits.

You may cancel at any time. Cancelling stops any further charges, and your plan continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, after which the account moves to the Free plan. Choosing a cheaper plan takes effect at your next renewal and is charged then, not immediately.

All payments are final and non-refundable, including subscription charges and purchases of extra credits, whether or not the credits have been used, and including any part of a period remaining after you cancel. Where a small amount is charged solely to verify a payment card, that amount is returned automatically and is not a refund of a purchase.

If a renewal charge is declined we will attempt it again over the following days and will let you know by email. If it continues to fail, the subscription ends and the account moves to the Free plan.

Service Changes

Africahied may update, suspend, or discontinue parts of the platform as the service develops. We may also update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after updates means you accept the revised Terms.
